How many amps does a Harbor Freight solar panel take?
The Harbor Freight solar panel kit is 12v, 45 watts and 3 amps. The Rule 240 bilge blower, which is a 12v fan with a maximum draw of 4.3 amps, can be connected to the panel. However, with lower levels of sunlight, the performance would be below those levels. The voltage may drop, but it is not specified in the passage if this would damage the motor.
Can I use a Harbor Freight solar panel to power a fan?
A Harbor Freight or similar 50 to 70 watt solar panel can be used to power a fan directly. When the battery voltage drops under ~10 or 11 volts, the fan will keep running, even when a cloud comes over.
How do you install a wall panel?
Take the two 1x3 inch boards and cut four 36 inch sections. Paint these with some sort of outdoor paint for appearance and to make it weather proof. Put the panel right-side up and line each rail along the side of the panel under the mounting plates. I placed and tightened down the plates to the channel about 9 inches from each end.
