How to calculate your Solar Return on Investment (ROI)?
Three key drivers determine the return on investment (ROI) of a solar system. These are: 1) The cost of your solar system 2) The amount of electricity your system produces 3) The value of the electricity your system is offsetting Let''s

How much area is available for PV deployment in Singapore?
An update of the available areas for PV deployment, now based on the 3D model of the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), assessments of actual PV systems deployed and implementation considerations from various government agencies. Total net usable area has been reduced from the 2014 PV Roadmap of 45 km2 to 36.8 km2.
What is the PV model?
The PV model is a theoretical model with the following assumptions: PV power dispatch is prioritised over conventional fossil fuel based generation. Figure 5.10 shows the typical load demand in Singapore in 2018. Unlike the CAISO duck curve, Singapore’s demand profile is comparably flat with the peak occurring between 9 am
Which PV modules are considered for cost projections?
Modules considered for cost projections are high efficiency modules, i.e. mono-Si PERC with power output higher than 300 W. Due to space constraints, low efficiency modules (i.e., multi-Si module lower or equal to 300 W) are no longer considered in the context of Singapore. PV module floor cost throughout the forecast period is set at USD 0.10/Wp.
How much does a PV module cost?
At end-2019, the average spot prices of low-cost multi-Si PV modules (280 Wp and below) were around USD 0.19-0.20/Wp, and for p-type mono-Si PERC PV modules (>280 Wp and below 310 Wp) around USD 0.22/Wp whilst higher efficiency modules (e.g. n-type mono-PERC) traded for around USD 0.28-0.32/Wp .
